ANCIENT GREEK SANDALS

How to: Style your sandals at home!

Working from home doesn’t have to mean an endless rotation of old, worn out leggings, or staying in your pyjamas from noon to night (though more on that later). As we enter our second - or for some of us, third or fourth - month of working from home, it might be time to boost your mood with some new styling tweaks.

Working from home doesn’t have to mean an endless rotation of old, worn out leggings, or staying in your pyjamas from noon to night (though more on that later). As we enter our second - or for some of us, third or fourth - month of working from home, it might be time to boost your mood with some new styling tweaks. After all, getting dressed up and exploring your personal style doesn’t need to be for the benefit of others - US Vogue’s famed Andre Leon Talley has written extensively about his impeccably chic grandmother, who polished the soles of her shoes. Because, as she put it, “why would you only polish the parts that people see?”

In the spirit of dressing for yourself, what better time to sift through neglected wardrobe favourites, switch your winter wear for your summer dresses, and find some new ways of working your favourite sandals into your WFH look. Retain your relaxed mode (comfort sole, anyone?) and explore new favourites with our guide to styling your sandals at home. We’d love to see your efforts on Instagram, #AncientGreekSandals

THAIS COMFORT, black
Evoke the spirit of a calming, Japanese garden by wearing your Thais Comfort soles with some wide-legged, cropped white linen trousers and a fitted grey cashmere jumper. Wafting around the same apartment will feel positively zen-like.

AGLAIA, tortoiseshell
This April, we’ll mostly be pretending we are around a pool or on a beach with our Algaia sandals. An oversized white shirt, some cut-off faded denim shorts, and the tortoiseshell itineration of the Algaia will see us through the next week at least.

IASO, patent tonal blue
We can’t think of anything cheerier than seeing these eye-popping Iasos every time we look down (at the same floors). If you can muster the energy for faded boyfriend jeans (the waistband, that is) then try pairing them with a soft, biscuit-coloured knit polo shirt and the blue Iaso.

DESMOS, mirror platinum
The current trend for printed silk pyjamas shows no signs of abating (and is currently the only excuse for nightwear as daywear). What better to team them with than the Desmos in mirror platinum, for an ultra-luxe loungewear look that’s entirely covetable.

THAIS, pony black
Take a tip from our Athens store manager Vasso, who’s been teaming her Thais sandals with socks through winter and beyond. Nothing says home comforts like this - opt for a bold, leopard pair for a high-contrast, high-octane way to work combinations you’ve never thought of before. And do be sure to share them on instagram with #AncientGreekSandals - we love seeing you style them at home.
