'We often have friends visiting over the summer and other than the many spectacular sandy beaches with turquoise clear waters, these are some of my favourite places to take them.
We would start at The Kapodistrias Museum, which is the only museum dedicated to Ioannis Kapodistrias, the 1st Governor of Greece.
After a tour of the museum, we would stroll around the beautiful gardens and enjoy a coffee at the local cafe. From there, we would head to Dr. Kavvadias Olive farm for a guided olive oil tasting - this is my husband's olive oil farm and our family home so is obviously a special place for me, and of course it has the best olive oil! After, we would head to the old town of Corfu for lunch at Marina’s tavern, and taste Corfiot recipes made with local products and love (the magical ingredient!).
Following lunch, we would visit Patounis’ soap factory for a tour of the oldest traditional soap factory in Greece followed by some shopping at Mezzo Mezzo, a shopping institution in Corfu with a great edit of Ancient Greek Sandals, alongside other Greek and International brands. An iced coffee from Caffetiera is the perfect take-away companion to enjoy on the walk to the Archaeological Museum, a small but must -see cultural establishment in Corfu. Before we head to dinner, we would pop by my friend Myrto Zirini’s workshop, where she makes the most amazing organic shaped, candy glazed ceramics.
Our perfect day would finish at Aristotelis Meggoulas’ restaurant, Pomo d'Oro to taste a blend of traditional and contemporary cuisine paired with wine from their incredible wine list.
