Meet Yannis Sergakis, a jeweler from a Greek diamond family, who launched his brand in 2004, inspired by watching his uncles at work. With all his pieces made in Athens, and inspiration coming from his country, Yannis Sergakis is a brand that shares values with Ancient Greek Sandals – which is why we have worked on a collaboration with the jeweler, with this exclusive style available to shop directly from Sergakis stores in Paris, Glyfada and Paros.
To celebrate, Sergakis has shared his perfect day in Paris, where he has a store – it’s a blend of a work, leisure, and delicious food, filled with inspiration and relaxation.
Begin with petit-dejeuner
‘I start my day early at Du Pain et des Idées, a charming boulangerie where the buttery, flaky pastries are worth the trip. I try to arrive early, before the queues start forming, to enjoy a quiet breakfast and a freshly baked pain au chocolat (or chocolatine as they call them there).’ 34 Rue Yves Toudic, 75010 Paris
Take a morning walk
‘From the boulangerie, I'll take a leisurely walk through the streets of Paris. The morning light is magical, casting a warm glow on the Haussmannian façades. I always enjoy this time of day, strolling towards my first appointment and soaking in the atmosphere.’
Enjoy a visit to Yannis Sergakis
‘One of my favorite areas in Paris is the Palais Royal. I love to visit our first French flagship, located at 126 Galerie de Valois. There, I usually take a second morning coffee in the Jardin du Palais Royal, savoring it by the fountain amidst the tranquil beauty of the gardens and observing the people around me.’ 126 Galerie de Valois, 75001 Paris
Choose world-class sushi
‘If I stay in the neighborhood, I often arrange a lunch at Yamamoto, known for serving the best sushi in Paris. It's a place that values simplicity – just fresh fish, perfectly prepared. No fuss, just excellent sushi.’ 6 Rue Chabanais, 75002 Paris
Seek inspiration
‘After lunch, I might take a detour by the serene Square Louvois or the Jardin Vivienne, part of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. These spots are perfect for a moment of inspiration and a little daydreaming amidst the greenery.’
Check in on the fashion scene
‘Next, I'll head to Le Bon Marché, one of Paris's most iconic department stores, to visit our corner in the Espace Créateur. It's a great opportunity to say hello to fellow jewellery designers and see what's new in the world of fashion and design.’ 24 Rue de Sèvres, 75007 Paris
Admire a stunning sunset‘For a stunning view of Paris at sunset, I often walk back towards the Rive Droite, catching a glimpse of Île Saint-Louis as the sun sets over the Seine. The soft colours of the sunset reflecting on the water create a picture-perfect Parisian moment.’
Visit a favourite spot for dinner
‘For dinner, I have a couple of favourites. Chez Janou is famous for its lively atmosphere and delicious chocolate mousse, while Le Petit Célestin offers a friendly mood and classic French dishes.’ Chez Janou, 2 Rue Roger Verlomme, 75003 Paris; Le Petit Célestin, 12 Quai des Célestins, 75004 Paris
Finish with a nightcap
‘If I'm in the mood for a little celebration, I'll stop by Hôtel Grand Amour for a cocktail. It's the perfect place to end the evening with a drink before heading off for a good night's sleep.’ 18 Rue de la Fidélité, 75010 Paris
